Is OK for "good friends" that aren't boyfriend/girlfriend to have , in your opinion?

Before school finished last year, two of my friends, Kelsey and Lewis were both close'ish friends, and decided to have once. They got together like 10 months later, but IYO do you think it's OK for two friends to have ?
